As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic week recognising our incredible volunteer community who make our work possible.
This year has felt even more special as we also celebrate 40 years of Lymphoma Action. It’s been a great opportunity to look back at how volunteering has evolved over this time and that one thing has remained the same - volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. It’s inspiring to see just how far we’ve come together.
Did you know?
- Lymphoma Action was founded in 1986 by volunteers, placing lived experience at the forefront of the Charity from day one.
- Volunteers are part of every service area, generously giving their experience, skills and expertise.
- We are accredited with Investors in Volunteers, the UK quality standard for commitment to volunteer wellbeing, inclusion and best practice.
A real highlight of the week was our Volunteer Recognition Awards, where we came together to celebrate the time, skills and dedication our volunteers give so generously. We were proud to recognise 8 volunteers who consistently go above and beyond in their roles, and to celebrate an incredible 34 long service awards.
